Unforeseen circumstances happen to us all…and usually at just the wrong time!  Your car breaks down on Wednesday and you don’t get paid until Friday.  You make an honest mistake in your checkbook and it leaves you a “little short” to cover all your outstanding checks.

That’s why The County Federal Credit Union now provides Overdraft Privilege, an added member service that protects you from the embarrassment and expense of returned items.

  • Protects you from merchant-returned check charges
  • Protects you from collection agency fees
  • Protects your good credit
  • Your account comes with Standard Coverage which includes checks, ACH transactions (automatic debits), recurring debit card transactions, and Bill Pay transactions
  • You can also choose Extended Coverage (consent is required, see below) which includes checks, ACH transactions (automatic debits), recurring debit card transactions, ATM withdrawals, everyday debit card transactions, and Bill Pay transactions

Accounts will be charged the standard OD Privilege fee of $28 for handling each overdraft created by check, ACH, Point-of-Sale, ATM withdrawal, or other electronic items that is paid and $28 for items returned. An overdrawn balance must be repaid within 30 days. We may not pay items under your Overdraft Privilege if you do not maintain your account in good standing by bringing your account to a positive balance within every thirty (30) day period for a minimum of 24 hours, if you default on any loan or other obligation to The County FCU or if your account is subject to any legal or administrative order or levy.
