The County Federal Credit Union Awards Scholarships

Presque Isle, ME- July 22, 2020 – The County Federal Credit Union recently awarded $1,000 scholarships to 15 graduating seniors within the credit union’s field of membership. At the individual presentations:

Shelby Barnes graduated from Caribou High School will be attending Northern Maine Community College for EMS/Paramedicine

Makaila Beck graduated from Fort Fairfield High School will be attending University of Maine Presque Isle for Liberal Arts

William Belyea graduated from Houlton High School will be attending University of New England for Medical Biology

Jacob Bonville graduated from Presque Isle High School will be attending Cedarville University for Sports Medicine

Ethan Cassidy graduated from Presque Isle High School will be attending University of Maine Orono for Mechanical Engineering

Maggie Castonguay graduated from Presque Isle High School- will be attending Husson University for Physical Therapy

Connor Demerchant graduated from Presque Isle High School- will be attending University of New England for Biology

Megan Gardiner graduated from Presque Isle High School- will be attending University of Maine Presque Isle for Undeclared

Gavin Hemphill graduated from Presque Isle High School- will be attending University of Maine Orono for Mechanical Engineering

Sara Howland graduated from Houlton High School- will be attending The University of Maine Orono for Political Science

Grace Johnson graduated from Houlton High School- will be attending Thomas College for International Business

Colby Langner graduated from Fort Fairfield High School will be attending University of Maine Farmington for Pre-Med Program

Elizabeth Nadeau graduated from Presque Isle High School will be attending University of Maine Presque Isle for Nursing

Rebecca Rider graduated from Presque Isle High School will be attending University of Maine Orono- Nursing

Dawson Watson graduated from Fort Fairfield High School will be attending University of Maine Presque Isle for Business

For 2020, The County awarded an unprecedented 15 members college scholarships. The Board of Directors felt 
due to the pandemic and the missed opportunities the class of 2020 experienced that it was important to provide students
 the help and award scholarships to all that applied. The credit union philosophy of ‘People Helping People’ is alive and well at The County Federal Credit Union; over the past 23 years, The County has awarded over $122,000 in scholarship money to local students.
