Protecting you from plastic card fraud is a big priority for The County Federal Credit Union. Our monitoring systems review your plastic card transactions and alert us to any activity that does not fit your usual purchase patterns. Please let us know if you’ll be using your ATM or debit card when traveling, as these transactions may be flagged as suspicious or even denied.
Other transactions that may be deemed suspicious include:
More than two gasoline purchases in one day
Excessive PIN tries
Trying to withdraw or purchase over your card’s daily limit.
In any such event, we may try to contact you to verify the validity of a transaction. We are simply trying to confirm that your card has not been lost, stolen or compromised. In rare cases, your card may be temporarily blocked until we can reach you. If this happens, call us immediately.
Please remember to never give out specific information about your card or your accounts unless you have initiated the call. Fraudsters may have information regarding a recent transaction, but ultimately they will request account information.
Protect Your Account Take action and protect your identity. One easy step to safeguard your account is having us attach your photo to your account. Stop by any one of our three locations and let us take your picture. It only takes a moment to protect your account.
